R.I.B.S™ Media is a revolutionary technology which uses semi-conductor technology to transform standard plastics into semi-conductor material capable of protecting even the most sensitive electronic devices from both Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) and CORROSION damage.

R.I.B.S™ MVTR (Reactive Intercept Barrier System)
R.I.B.S™ MVTR is a combination of two inventions that provide permanent Electrostatic protection (ESD and EMI Shielding), full MVTR protection and a self-contained de-ionizer for neutralizing corrosive gases.
R.I.B.S™ MVTR is a heavily metallized laminated co-extruded film which contains a single layer of two distinctly different properties:
- One layer is made up of conductive carbon permanently bonded in a polymer chain.
- Another layer is a static dissipative, non-sloughing polymer bonded with specially treated copper ions called Corrosion Intercept ® that acts as a membrane over the carbon layer.
R.I.B.S™ MVTR offers the lowest in Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate (MVTR) and provides 4 protective functions as follows:
- Permanent Static Dissipative protection
- Corrosion protection
- Organic ions absorption by the carbon layer
